Timeframe: 5 class meetings meeting once a week, 3 hours each class (15 hours total)
Skill Level: Intermediate Quilter
Pre-requisites: You must be proficient with your machine, measuring, rotary cutting, quilt assembly and finishing techniques.
Have a quilt top ready to finish? Bring it along with your supplies and let get it done! Learn techniques to build upon your basic quilting knowledge and finish a small quilt top.
Please do not bring a quilt top larger than a crib size (45”x60”). If you took the Intro to Quilting Class with me, your sampler top will be just right!
Each session builds from the prior classes, and participants will leave each class with an assignment to complete at home.
Topics will cover:
Selection of fabric for backing and binding
Various types of batting
Basting, quilting, and binding techniques
How to determine which threads and needle sizes work best.
We will also discuss optional touches, such as adding a sleeve, and making a quilt label. By the end of the class, you will have a quilt ready to be used!
Homework: yes -- usually finishing tasks from class, or working on your project to meet a goal
